Holy Name and St Peter's Parish
The idea of sharing Sunday lunch arose from the recognition of how many parishioners dine alone most of the time. It seemed like a good idea for anyone who found themselves alone on the fourth Sunday of each month to come and share lunch together. We meet after the midday Mass. We share a roast dinner with rather special puddings, a glass of wine or juice, and coffee and chocolates. There are about 36 of us on the list although our usual number sitting down is about 30.

We have two excellent volunteers who buy the food and cook the lunch and another volunteer who washes the dishes after the meal. We delight in our talented and gifted members who bring poems, jokes, after dinner items of interest, and reminiscences of past times to entertain us.

5 covers the cost of the meal and anyone who would otherwise be dining alone is most welcome to join us. Reminder of the next meal is announced in the newsletter the week before and diners are asked to tick their names on the list in the porch for catering purposes.
