CAFOD is a national charity established by the Bishops of England and Wales in 1962 as an official Catholic overseas relief agency. It is our arm of the international network of Catholic relief and development organisations known as 'Caritas'. It works alongside the other organisations to improve the quality of life of those who have to go short. It is motivated by our Catholic belief that all have the right to dignity and respect and that the world's resources, given by God, should be used responsibly and fairly shared by all regardless of nationality, race or religion.
